Operation and Maintenance Base at Hsinchu Harbor
O&M Base at Hsinchu Harbor
IOG is delighted to provide an O&M package solution for Formosa projects by using Hsinchu fishing harbour, also known as Nanliao Harbour, as O&M base and providing dedicated logistics services. It is located north of the Formosa 1 & 2 wind farm project area, and its well-structured marshalling area make it relatively suitable to be utilised as an O&M base.
Cwind’s experience in running the Grimsby hub in UK is relevant for our plans to develop Hsinchu. Cwind Taiwan is committed to replicating the ways and means and supporting wind farms in Taiwan with the best practice.

IOG Operation and Maintenance Base Plan
IOG plans to build a floating dock zone in Hsinchu fishing harbour. We’ve confirmed that our O&M vessels can berth in the southern part of the floating dock. The northern part will be arranged to berth vessels of fishermen.
Our own warehouse and office facility is planned to settled. After some old buildings around the harbour refurbishment, we could use it as warehouse, office space or crew accommodation.
Considering the dredging task for Hsinchu fishing harbour needs to be done frequently, IOG plans to partner with Hsinchu city government to do the maintenance dredging, which maintain the depth of shipping channel, from time to time.
IOG Local Contribution Plans
IOG is always willing to contribute to the local fishermen’s associations, communities and cities in Taiwan. We plan to achieve upgrading of local industries through the establishment of operation and maintenance base, to enhance the quality of life and achieve sustainable operation.
Increase the berths of
fishing boats
Increase the berths of fishing boats: IOG plans to increase the berths of vessels through the construction of floating dock, so that the berthing space of ships in the fishing port could be more flexible and more berths available.
regular dredging
To ensure navigation safety, the water depth of the harbour must be maintained at a certain depth regularly to prevent vessels from stranding and accidents. Therefore, regular dredging is an indispensable and necessary project for the port.
Bring local job opportunities
The implementation of the offshore wind industry could not only contribute to the energy transformation in Taiwan, but also could accelerate the formation of local industrial chains, through enhancing the construction of the harbor and promoting local characteristics.
